"DOME OF SOLTANIYEH" MUSIC VIDEO

On  19th July 2018, musicians of THE INTERNAVA PROJECT were driven by mini bus from Tehran, four hours into the desert, to film Farokhzad Layegh’s minimalist piece Sus-Septet Tempus at sunset, in the ruins of the magnificent 700 year-old Dome of Soltaniyeh,,Zanjan Province, Iran.

The Dome of Soltaniyeh is the third tallest dome in the world after Florence and is understood to have inspired the Taj Mahal.

The juxtaposition of contemporary music, incorporating Persian modes, performed inside this ancient building, makes for an atmospheric music video.

The Irish violinist, Darragh Morgan, the Cypriot violinist Viktoria Mavromoustaki, the Portuguese violist Miguel Sobrinho and the Portuguese cellist Pedro Silva cello are joined by the Iranian cellists Makan Khoinejad  and Negar Norad .

The filming was made possible with sponsorship from the Iran Heritage Foundation and the Nikan Hospital.
